Stored water does not stay still. Sediment settles into a fine layer across the floor of the tank. Biofilm forms on the walls wherever daylight reaches through a cracked lid. An overflow screen that has torn lets insects in. None of this is visible at the tap until the day it suddenly is.

We empty the tank, lift the sediment out by hand, scrub and disinfect the internal surfaces, rinse to a clean drawdown, then check the lid, the screens and the float before refilling. A tank is the owner's responsibility, and nobody ever inspects one unless somebody opens it.
